Breeding stallions 2023
Here at Stald Gavnholt we offer a wide selection of top breeding stallions. You can read more about each stallion, covering conditions and booking below. If you are in any doubt of what stallion would best suit your mare, you are welcome to contact us for some advice and guidance to find the best match.
We are in close cooperation with the vets from Bryrup Hestepraksis, who are experts within reproduction, and we have a high pregnancy rate every year. We have a close follow-up by the vet during the stay, to give the mares the best possible treatment and conditions to get pregnant as fast as possible.
We recommend that the mare is checked from home and arrives at Stald Gavnholt with a clean swab-test and a negative CEM-test. We prefer that the mare is ready for covering/insemination or in the beginning of heat at arrival. It is also possible to get the mare checked and prepared here by us. We only offer artificial insemination by Grímur and Hæmir.
All stallions has tested negative for CEM in 2023. They will be tested regularly during the season. The results are registered in Worldfengur.

In 2019 Grímur achieved 1 pr for offsprings. Grímur is a complete 5-gaiter with beautiful conformation and fantastic temperament. He is very tall and extremely charismatic. Grímur is absolutely one of a kind with lot of mane and feathers. His offspring are usually big and strong with well carried and raised necks. They are easy in handling and show both tölt and pace.
